A decade at the top of Georgian broadcasting
Imedi TV and its sister channel GDS were held for more than a decade through the Georgian Media Production Group — one of the country's most-watched national broadcasters and a significant in-house production platform.
On 6 February 2026 the business was divested to Prime Media Global, owned by Ilia Mikelaishvili, and to the channel's management team led by Director General Maka Lomidze — closing out the firm's longest-standing media holding.
